19th Century Cherry Country French Farmhouse Table

Epitomizing the rustic Provincial aesthetic that was popularized in the 19th Century by the growing middle class of France, this table showcases the style embraced by rural craftsman. Though inspired by the late 18th century neoclassical opulence of Louis XV and Louis XVI style furniture, middle class Provincials required less ornamentation and gilding for functional pieces. Decidedly less decadent, this artisan table reflects understated elegance and impressive carpentry. Having a plank top with pinned “Breadboard” ends, scalloped apron and refined cabriole legs, this table also features a drawer at one end to hide those Brussels Sprouts that no one really likes. Measures 33″ wide, 73″ long, and 29 1/2″ high overall. It was recently polished and re-varnished with a nice mellow color.
